Used RAS are almost 'free' on Craig's List because people are afraid of them, got left one by a deceased relative, or they sit around taking up oxygen in the basement or garage. Also known as cape chisels, these cut slots and get into tight places. It was so easy to get just the correct amount off, because the kerf in the back fence show where each side of the cut will be. REACH (EC 1907/2006) (, 235 SVHC) Compliant. I just trimmed some Oak pieces, about 37' long by 1/16' off the ends. I think that's because I use my Radial Arm Saw for 90% of crosscutting, except on shorter/smaller lengths, where I do use the table saw. Made of solid carbide, these keyseat cutters are harder, stronger, and more wear resistant than high-speed steel for the longest life and best finish on hard material. What I've wanted to do for years, and I even purchased a steel bar 3/8' X 3/4' X 96', is to make extended length bars for a few of my miter gauges. I have removed the tabs from all of mine. My usage requires lifting/removing the miter gauge anywhere along the slot way more often than sliding it out past the tipping point where the 'tab' prevents it from falling.

I posted a thread on all of my miter gauges here: Step 1 Drill a 6mm hole in a plywood strip. I have 2 of the Incra miter gauges myself.
